I always suggest this size for any short hair dog. The coverage is much better for their hind quarters. In addition the underbelly is covered by the wider belt. If you think it is to long, it usually isn't. You can always snugg up the collar from behind and it will usually move up a 1/2 to 1 inch. Or you can fold up the back and jazz it up. This has 2 inch velcro which will ensure the coat will stay in place.
